Sometimes my clients will offer me a design or layout and then ask me to develop content that fits into that layout. This is very common with web design businesses.


This astonished me greatly as one of my clients, after reading what I had written, chose to change the appearance of her organization's website. First, she insisted, I should prepare all of the content, and only after that would the website design be created around it.


It's a new trend: writing content for each section of the web design is a new rule of thumb. They may ask you to limit yourself to 100 words since a certain portion of the website does not have room for more. As a result, whether or not the message requires additional words, you must fit it all into 100.
